 The Floyd Country Store The Floyd Country Store, home of the world-famous Friday Night Jamboree, is a historic country store celebrating traditional Appalachian music and heritage. The Store has a fantastic selection of Old-Time and Bluegrass cd's and music accessories, penny candy, old-fashioned housewares and gifts, and unique selections from local artisans, as well as Carhart clothing! And if you're hungry, the store's kitchen offers hot dogs, BBQ, soups and sandwiches, coffee, soda, and a delicous range of Hershey's Premium ice cream and sundae treats.
The old-fashioned Country Store is open for business during the week. Hours vary seasonally, so visit the Floyd Country Store website for up-to-date information.
Friday Night Jamborees begin at 6:30 pm with an hour of gospel music. At 7:30 pm the first of the Old-Time and Bluegrass bands begin playing, and the flatfoot and clogging dancers rush to fill the hardwood dance floor in front of the stage. The music lasts until at least 10:30 pm, often going later in summer months.
People young and old come from several counties and from around the world to dance and hear the music. No alcoholic beverages are served, and no smoking is allowed. This is truly a fun place to be on a Friday night in Virginia.

 County Records/Sales is located at 117 West Main Street in Floyd. County Records began operation in 1965 and became a pioneer in recording of oldtime, traditional country, and bluegrass music. County Records has expanded to include additional labels as well as a record distributorship and mailorder business. The store located on Main Street has a large selection of bluegrass and oldtime music. The staff is very knowledgeable in this area of music. If the store doesn't have what you need, they will gladly order it for you. Gift certificates are also available. County Sales is one of the nation's largest retailers of bluegrass and oldtime music. The store is open Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. and is a real treasure if you have a bluegrass or oldtime music fan in your family or you want to learn more about these styles of music.
